The Nike Air Max 720 is a brand new silhouette for 2019 from the sportswear giant - created as part of Nike’s ongoing campaign to modernise the brand. The newest offering for SS19 is fittingly named ‘Iridescent Mesh’. The upper of the shoe is crafted from a synthetic mesh, which although black displays a huge array of iridescent tones under lighting. This also features through shimmers of teal of the TPU clips that accent the toe box, side panels and heel. Curved mudguards run around the body of the shoe and feature an embossed Swoosh on the outside. Finally the midsole and outsole is created from a full length Air unit, decorated in complementary shimmering colours. These natural tones are inspired by the natural world, something that acts to balance out the futuristic silhouette of the shoe.

Despite inspiration from the Air Max 97 being clear in the midsole, the Air Max 720 is packed full of modern functionality. The full length air unit promotes comfort and impact quality that’s unrivalled by previous Air Max models, additionally the mesh units along the lateral sides provide structure to the midfoot as well as stability. Finally the outsole is finished with a waffle inspired rubber coverage for durable traction.

Nike really have proved that bigger is better with their largest Air Max unit yet.
